*Was the rationale accomplished? How?
1. Julie – Chapter 6 (Reading in English)
This chapter contains 'reading independentley - finding information. They explain when children can read, they can use the printed word as an alternative source of English. So I want children to learn and feel fun & happy through using English tips.
-This activitity is finding out the way. Students will learn some related expressions, and they can read some sentences, then will find out final destination at a map.
2. Eileen – Chapter 6 (Reading in English)
-This chapter explains the way the teacher lead the children to move from spoken language to written language. Students learn to match sounds and letters and identify individual sounds in a word (initial, final, and medial sounds).
-Then they can read words, phrases, and even sentences. In this class, students enjoy a story about animal friends and their movements. After that, they can read the main sentence and practice it so that the can speak fluently.
3. Jane – Chapter 6 (Reading in English)
-This chapter explains how to use reading activities that focus on meaning and support pupils as they move from spoken to written language. I chose the following activities - bomb game to focus on meaning, word recognition and connection between familiar sounds and written words or phrases.
Also, I want to make every student participate and enjoy the lesson without losing focus. Every student wil enjoy this game, whatever their level, because of this game depends on their learning ability and also their good luck.
4. Joanne – Chapter 8 (Reading & Telling Stories)
-I think that stories are the most valuable resource for young learners. I focus on how to get their attention and I want them to make fun while listening the story. I’ll introduce some foods with flash cards.
-Using stories with pictures & gestures help children understand, also I will introduce language in context, and help children acquire intonation and pronunciation by listening
5. Yumi – Chapter 8 (Reading & Telling Stories)
-Storytelling exposes children naturally to language. They can build vocabulary, use more complex sentence, and improve comprehension through story telling.
-In my lesson, children learn the relations among family members and the five sense verbs (smell, touch, hearing, sight, taste) through the bears' activities.
6. Polly – Chapter 8 (Reading & Telling Stories)
-This chapter is about how to tell and read a story for young learners. There is a difference between telling and reading a story. One of the most important difference is teacher’s intonation pattern. I’d like to tell the story and read the story at the same time with some materials. Using materials could help that children are interesting and enjoyable of the storybook.
7. Linda - Chapter 2 (Writing)
-This lesson is called "Don't do that". Children can listen, speak, read, and write about the imperative sentences. I'vre prepared writing class for learning imperative sentences. Also, I'd like to use storybook for this class. This book focuses on 'how to be good friend in the class'. Therefore, the content will be helpful to the 4th grade students because they are in important period with classmates.

1. CINDY (SPEAKING WITH SUPPORT)
-encourage children in their first efforts to speak English by introducing new vocabulary using pictures, gestures, and repetition and helping learners remember new words & phrases in context, practicing new vocabulary & playing games with the vocabulary. I put focus on remembering new words using guessing, categorizing the words and shopping game activity.
2. CHO (SPEAKING WITH SUPPORT)
-explain good ways to encourage students in speaking. I'll introduce "I'm washing me ____" using pictures, flash cards, and a song. The reason I chose this expression is that it's an authentic sentence so students can use it outside of the classroom, in real life. To make students familiar with the expression, I'll repeat the expression in various ways.
3. SO-MI (SPEAKING WITH SUPPORT)
-This chapter explains that songs, chants and rhymes can help students easily learn about not only new words and phrases, but also pronunciation, stress, and intonation. Also chants or songs are very helpful to remember expressions, so students can speak some expressions outside of school. Plus, all the efforts children make to speak English, children feel a sense of achievement and increase their confidence to speak more English.
4. TRISHA (SPEAKING MORE FREELY)
-This chapter helps the sutdents get information from each other. While speaking, it is important to encourage the students to communicate without embarrassment. The st udent can develop their communicative competence by themselves. They also can practice pattern drills when they can get the information.
5. RACHEL (SPEAKING MORE FREELY)
-My rationale for this presentation is that students are interested in speaking. And communicate freely. I encourage they can use expressions when they describe about picture. And my aim for activities is to let students use some useful expression when they do activities in their group.
6. LYNN (SPEAKING MORE FREELY)
-This chapter explains how we can help children to speak more fluently in English. I try to involve each student in speaking activities. I make students stiumulate their minds to help foster their imaginiation through the activity. This activity provides stduents with the positive awareness of life's possibilities. I can also help them build new vocabulary, encourage them to speak English, and develop their listening skills as well as their speaking abilities.
7. LYNN (LISTEN AND MAKE)
-This chapter explains how listening to English and making things can be done without expecting children to speak English at first. Listening is the FIRST STEP that children should improve before speaking, that's why it is considered as one of very important part in learning English. First of all, I'll give children some instructions what they have to make using different colored clay, and repeat it. Lastly, I'll let them make their own creative things.
